Catherine Cahir
From the moment my baby was born a small 2.3kg my family friend Catherine (also a midwife) supported my breastfeeding journey every step of the way, from writing up a plan to help me feed as well as rest (as I also needed to express and top up), to watching my attachment to calling to ‘check in’ every single day. When I had a bad case of mastitis followed by nipple thrush and felt like giving up it was Catherine who listened, empathised and gently got me through to still be breastfeeding today at 9 months. She always had words of encouragement and celebrated my successes. I don’t know where I would be without her!
