My husband, Juho, has been on board as my breastfeeding support person since the get go. In hospital he was there helping to pump my breasts as I was too exhausted and our baby was in the special care nursery so I needed to work extra hard to get my milk to come in since we were separated and I wasn’t able to feed him. When we got home Juho was always there to bring me water, pillows and snacks and to help me with attachment and positioning. He listened attentively to the visiting midwife and helped put everything we learnt into practice. He even took me to the park so I could get comfortable breastfeeding outside. This made me feel supported.
