Pinky is an International Board certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), with a busy private practice in Melbourne, Australia. She is also the best-selling author of four books published by Penguin: Sleeping Like a Baby, 100 Ways to Calm the Crying, Toddler Tactics and Parenting By Heart.
Pinky has devoted her life to doing more than just sharing the benefits of breastfeeding, but also dealing with ideas for increasing cultural awareness and support. One of her recommendations is that the more women that breastfeed in public, the more normalised it will become.
“By taking tiny steps towards ‘busting out’ in public, you will be normalising breastfeeding, you will be helping to desensitise the people who think breastfeeding is a ‘private’ act that should be done in bathrooms, bedrooms and toilets like peeing or having sex. And you will be making things just that little bit easier for other mothers too.”
