By making a public pledge you can show mothers that community support for breastfeeding far outweighs the minority that take offence. We encourage you to explore the pledges on this site and think about something you can do (as an individual, employer, business, service provider, venue operator) to help make it easier for mums who choose breastfeed to do so.
  • Supporting all breastfeeding mums

I pledge to support all breastfeeding mums in public. I firmly believe that women should be able to feed their baby when & where they want/need to. I have fed all three of my babies in public. I pledge to give all mums a warm smile & thumbs up in support of their public breastfeeding.

  • Kindness

I pledge to look that proud bf mumma in the eye and smile…showing her she has nothing to be ashamed of. And to compliment her or her bubba when possible so maybe she feels like this really is the norm. And those wonderful patient mums of distracted bubs leaving mum exposed to watch the grumpy old lady walk by…to make a special effort for those mummas.

  • The easiest way to feed

I was one of the lucky mums who found breastfeeding simple and easy. I now have 2 very healthy 15 year old and 13 year old sons. The 15 year old was born 8 weeks prematurely and being able to snuggle that little bundle to my boobs was amazing. I was always prepared to feed the boys – if need be defiantly – wherever I found myself and will always vocally support the right of all women to do the same. Workplaces cannot be allowed ever to discriminate against breastfeeding mums.

Not only am I a big breastfeeding advocate, I’m the mother of 3 and a CLEC. Our society needs this type of movement. I have a dream that in our future breastfeeding is supported and welcomed and breastfeeding mothers are treated like the milky goddesses they are.

I pledge to never feel ashamed to feed my baby in public. I’ll feed her as she needs no matter where we are. I’ll show my support to other breastfeeding mom’s with a simple smile or by asking if she could use a bottle of water. I’ll kill haters with kindness and not let anyone intimidate me while feeding my daughter. Keep on boobin!

  • knowledge

I pledge as a breastfeeding mom to give knowledge to those who think they know what’s best. At my employer I deal with people who criticize me and act as though they know what it means to breastfeed. I stand up for my right and I will continue to stand up for all breastfeeding moms.

  • Public breastfeeding

I was very nervous about breastfeeding in public until my daughter was about 9 months old when something just clicked in my head. I began to see it as a part of my duty as a breastfeeding parent to conquer my fears to help normalize breastfeeding for other parents and our community. I pledge to continue to do this so that in the future, other parents won’t struggle like I did.
